Skills, apps and automations

Write a procedure once for your agent, and let apps do recurring work with only the access you give them. Before an app is installed, the person installing it sees what it wants to read, change or spend.

A daily trigger starts the brief, which reads only what it is allowed to and proposes a draft for review.

  1. Daily schedule

    the app's trigger starts it

  2. Morning-brief app

    its own identity and access

  3. Read allowed files

    the inbox area

  4. Propose a draft

    a person checks it

  5. Record the run

when it ran and what it used

Skills

A skill is a written procedure your agent can follow. A meeting-prep skill might say which files to check and how to lay out the brief. Reading a skill doesn't carry out the work.

Apps

An app is a tool that does a particular job, such as drafting a morning brief. It has its own identity and its own limited access, so it never acts as the owner.

Automations and loops

An automation starts a sequence of app actions on a schedule or when something happens. A loop is a recurring workflow that can wait for information or a person, choose between paths, and keep a record of each run.

Connections

A connection lets an installed app reach an outside service. Gmail and Google Calendar connections are read-only and can bring information in for review. They don't yet check for new items on a schedule.

Check before turning it on

An app asks for everything it needs up front: which zones it may read, what it may suggest and what it may spend. The owner, or an admin within their own access, reviews that before installing it. Automations and loops are the owner's to turn on unless the owner lets admins manage them.

Approving one doesn't give it any other access. Automations and loops can be paused or retired later, and each run leaves activity records.

## Example: A morning brief

Each morning, a configured morning-brief app reads the newest note in your inbox area and proposes a short brief for review. It can't open Payroll or send email, because it was never given those permissions.

## Status: Partly available

STATUS · CHECKED 3 OCTOBER 2026

Skills, apps with their own access and spending limits, automations and loops are available on configured Minds. Which apps are available depends on your setup, and outside developers can't yet publish apps for everyone to install. Ask which connections are configured and running for your team.
